Where do I meet the tour guide?

The tour guide will meet you in in the west end of the courtyard near Mast Boutique, located at the Mercado San Agustin - 100 S Avenida Del Convento. There is free parking behind the Mercado.

If a food tour is sold out, can I get on a waiting list?

We do not provide a waiting list. Please email us to let us know what date you are interested in if you do not see availability. We may be able to add more people to the tour.

Is my ticket refundable?

Once purchased, tickets are non-refundable.

How much food is served on the food tour?

Each Taste of Tucson Downtown Tour will stop at four to five restaurants. Most participants are comfortably full after our tour.

 

How much walking is involved? Is it a fast-paced tour?

On most of our routes the tour takes 3.5 hours and is about two miles.

Should I give the guide a tip?

Yes, thank you! If you enjoyed your tour your guide will be most appreciative of a gratuity.

What if I have dietary restrictions or allergies?

This is a one of a kind tasting experience with a pre-selected menu; therefore, we are unable to adjust the tour for special dietary requirements and/or food allergies. If we know 24 hr. in advance of a tour, we can make some accommodations for vegetarians.

When is the best time to take the tour?

For tourists, we highly recommend taking our food tours at the beginning of your visit so you allow plenty of time to revisit your favorite restaurants.

 

**Are children allowed on the tour?

We respectfully ask for no children under the age of 14.

Is the tour wheelchair accessible?

Yes our tours are wheelchair accessible.

**Are any beverages served on the tour?

Water is provided at each of the restaurant stops. Other beverages are available for purchase at some of the stops.

Does the tour end at the same place we meet?

Yes, we will take the streetcar back to the Mercado San Agustin.

**What types of foods are served on the tour?

A variety of cuisines will be served with an emphasis on local, sustainable, and farm-to-table ingredients.  

Do we only walk around and sample food?

Absolutely not! Our tours combine architectural commentary, historical facts, local culture, a ride on the modern streetcar, and culinary insights during the 4-hour experience.

 

What restaurants will we visit on the tour?

You can expect to be delighted by a mix of Tucson’s best new and traditional restaurants.  Check our restaurant partners out on our website.  

What happens if it rains?

Tours are held rain or shine. Please check the weather conditions for your day’s event and dress appropriately. Be sure to wear sunscreen and bring water with you.

**Is there a minimum or maximum number of guests required to run a tour?

Yes, we require a minimum of 4 guests and a maximum number of 10 for our tours.

Are bathrooms available during the tour?

Yes, at each restaurant.

Are cameras allowed on the tour?

Yes, cameras and filming are allowed during the tour. We strongly encourage participants to take photos during the tour and post them on your favorite social media sites or on ours Facebook, Instagram, Twitter.
