DO WE ONLY STOP AT RESTAURANTS ON THE TOURS?

Definitely not! In addition to delicious local food, we also add a helping of local history. We’ll share historical, cultural and architectural information about the Southwest.

HOW MUCH FOOD IS SERVED ON THE TOURS?

Our tours include stops at 4 local eateries and collectively this is enough food to be equal to a satisfying lunch for most people. The tastings vary in amount, at each of the stops.

ARE BEVERAGES INCLUDED?

Not all stops are long enough for and/or conducive to serving beverages. Water is included at every stop. We recommend bringing along bottled water- this is the desert!

WHAT IF I HAVE DIETARY RESTRICTIONS?

For allergies and dietary restrictions, there may not always be a an option that also meets specific dietary needs, we are not able to provide substitutions in all tasting locations. However, our tours offer a good mix of foods, including vegetarian, pescatarian and gluten-free options. We do need to know about dietary restrictions at the time the tour is booked.

DO I NEED TO PURCHASE TICKETS IN ADVANCE?

Tickets must be purchased in advance. Tickets may be purchased through FareHarbor online or by calling 520-9042119.

DOES THE TOUR GUIDE ACCEPT GRATUITIES?

Gratuities are not included for the guides in the ticket price. While not mandatory, if you had a great time, gratuities will be graciously accepted by your tour guide at the end of the tour. The standard gratuity in the industry is 10-20%.

ARE GRATUITIES FOR THE SERVERS INCLUDED IN THE TOUR PRICE?

Yes, at the tasting locations, gratuities for the servers are included in the price of your ticket and the servers are taken care of.

WHAT IS THE CANCELLATION? REFUND POLICY?

All sales are final. Tour tickets are sold based on availability for a specific date and time and your ticket is valid for that event only. We do not offer refunds, exchanges or re-scheduling once tickets have been purchased. Our tours run rain or shine unless there is a severe storm warning.

ARE CHILDREN WELCOME ON THE TOURS?

Children ages 12 and older are welcome to participate.

Our tours last 3 ½ hours and include historical, cultural and/or architectural information. A lot of time is spent walking, standing and talking about the history and culture of the area. This can be quite challenging for the attention span of young children.

ARE GIFT CERTIFICATES AVAILABLE?

Yes, Gift Certificates are available and make great gifts for holidays, birthdays, weddings and other special occasions!

CAN I BOOK A PRIVATE TOUR?

Yes, Taste of Tucson Downtown can accommodate private group tours for 10 or more people.

WHERE DOES THE TOUR BEGIN?

The tours begin at The Mercado located at 100 South Avenido del Convento. There is free parking behind the shops and/or across the street in the dirt lot.

HOW LONG IS THE TOUR AND HOW MUCH WALKING DOES IT INVOLVE? IS IT A FAST PACE?

Our tours last between 3 – 3 1/2 hours and cover 2.5 miles. We walk at a casual pace stopping for food, to talk about neighborhood sites, and the murals.

CAN I SHOP DURING THE TOUR?

Our tours have been planned in advance and are on a schedule to our food stops to ensure fresh food-tastings, it is important for us to stay on schedule. Unless the tour has included a shopping stop, please refrain from shopping until after the tour.

ARE CAMERAS ALLOWED ON THE TOUR?

Yes! Please take pictures and share them on social media and with us.

AT WHAT POINT ON MY VACATION SHOULD I BOOK A TOUR?

We recommend taking this tour toward the beginning of your vacation so you have time to re-visit your new favorite eateries and sites! Our tours are offered Wednesdays, Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays. Please book your tour well in advance to make sure that you get your preferred date.

ARE TOURS ONLY FOR LOCALS?

Most definitely not! We visit stops that may be new to you. We share some fun facts about neighborhoods and their history, architecture and culture that you may not have known. Our tours include an opportunity to experience the “behind the scenes” of some local establishments. Consider taking our tours with visitors – our tours are excellent for entertaining out-of-town family and guests!
